Obama Goes Supervillain: Proposes Global Minimum Tax!
President Obama is completing his transformation into a literary super-villain by
proposing a global minimum tax, wait, not proposing a global minimum tax, okay, proposing a global minimum tax that looks to net his world communist pals, sorry, the friends of global progress one hundred trillion dollars!
The news comes on the day that sitting Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton looks to work her way up the globalist food chain by moving to the World Bank. If she beats out such gems as Treasury Sec extraordinaire and Turbo Tax flunky (maybe we didn’t know how to use Quicken?) Timothy Geithner, Hillary would finally find a government role worthy of her own Bond villain mojo (for Hillary’s post-Maoist fashion see here). She would succeed the Bush team’s neoconservative mastermind and all-around good guy Paul Wolfowitz in the position.
This is actually not hard to figure out. The
green socialist environmental justice movement is going down the giant low-flow crapper faster than enviroguru Al Gore can say “the planet’s gaht a fevah” (despite murmurs of “denialist” spokesman Lord Monckton meeting with mining industry heads who don’t want to get crushed by eco-statists and actually conspiring to “capture the high ground” in the mainstream media… not capture the high ground!). The entire rationale for the green movement, gouging the world for at least $72 trillion through a “carbon tax,” is probably not going to fly with people who have discovered MMGW is a lie (thanks to Climategate leaks, among other things). A new strategy was needed.
So what was the logical move? Going all in-your-face bankster about jacking producers while tapping into memes favorable to the fabricated Occucrier movement, such as making companies pay “their fair share” (recall the “Robin Hood Tax“? What’s next, the anti-dog-eat-dog rule?). Here’s what the Weekly Standard reported:
“[N]o American company should be able to avoid paying its fair share of taxes by moving jobs and profits overseas,” Obama said, according to his remarks as prepared for deliver. “From now on, every multinational company should have to pay a basic minimum tax. And every penny should go towards lowering taxes for companies that choose to stay and hire in the United States of America.”
So while President Obama calls it “a basic minimum tax,” his adviser, Sperling, calls it a “global minimum tax.” Either way, it’s the same thing regardless of how the White House wants to message it.
Witness Barack Obama the Shakedown-Artist-in-Chief is in full flower. It’s time to rip this president and radical leftist weeds of his ilk up by their hairy roots this November, before they spread and choke our economy for good.
