A Great Example of New Media Campaigning: Bob Casey & Barack Obama – Separated at Birth

New Media have opened up creative ways for political operators to get their point across without having to spend tens of thousands of dollars on air-time. It is much easier to circumvent the old, decaying media and go directly to people who can publicize your candidacy for you.

An ad by Steve Welch, Republican candidate for one of Pennsylvania’s U.S. Senate seats, shows that you can take on your opponent with cleverness and humor, demonstrating wit and good-natured fun while subtly undermining the basis of support for one’s opponent.

This campaign season, Republicans and those who support them need to pull out all stops to defeat what is sure to be an all-out campaign by the leftist corporate media to lie, cheat, smear, and obfuscate Obama’s disastrous record in order to get their progressive candidate of choice back into power. That means shrewdly using New Media to erode the legitimacy and effectiveness of the political left.
