Team Rick Perry Debates Whether or Not To Quit Debating

Team Rick Perry is in a quandary: Should it force Rick Perry to stop debating and let people think him a fool, or should it allow him to debate and remove all doubt?

Politico is reporting that Rick Perry might stop debating his opponents after the Michigan face-off.

Really? I don’t know why. In past debates he has displayed the charm of Skeletor, the hairstyle of Rod Blagojevich, and the eloquence of an occupy protester, only with a Texas drawl.

Ever since Rick Perry went all pink immigration awareness ribbon with his rock-solid “have a heart” argument to allow illegal immigrants into the country to free load off the education system, the GOP faithful have been looking upon Perry with a raised eyebrow.

Despite Perry’s stupid, Democratish arguments about letting non-Americans into the country just to bend over backwards to serve them, his mangling of the English language has been one of the few bright spots in the doldrums of campaign season.

There are some real Rhinestones, like this one:

“I think Americans just don’t know sometimes which Mitt Romney they’re dealing with. Is it the Mitt Romney that was on the side of…against the second amendment before he was for…er…the second amendment?…Was it before he was before the social programs, um, from the standpoint of, he was, uh, for standing up for Roe versus Wade before he was against verse…uh, Roe versus Wade?… He was, uh, for race to the top, uh he’s (pause) for Obamacare, now he’s against it. I mean we’ll uh wait until tomorrow and see which Mitt Romney we’re uh really talking to tonight.” (scattered applause)

Or this one:

“And those people who hire illegals ought to be penalized. And Mitt, you lose all of your standing from my perspective, because you hired illegals in your home and you knew for it about him for a year, and the idea that you stand here before us and talk about that you’re strong on immigration is on its face the heighth [sic] of hypocrisy.”

All of this suggests Perry is either disinterested in the job or too unfocused to even pay attention to the task at hand without letting a fly come into his periph and tracking it across the room.

Whether Rick Perry is even up to the job any longer is now the subject of real debate.
